Dear Friends,
Across the UK and beyond, something extraordinary is happening. Strangers are turning up at church services. Atheists are buying Bibles. Hardened sceptics are softening. Even the media is noticing a surge of interest in the Christian faith. One verse keeps coming to mind:
‘See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut’
(Revelation 3:8 NIV)
God hasn’t opened this door so we can stand around discussing the hinges. He’s inviting us to step boldly inside. At Philo Trust, that means two things:
1. Reaching Out
We want to make Jesus known widely. If people come into church, we’ll preach there. If not, we’ll preach outside, online, in prisons, in arenas, in stadiums. God didn’t open a door for us to linger on the doorstep.
2. Appealing for a Response
We live in a world where TikTok says 20 seconds is a long time. Attention spans are short, distractions endless. That’s why we must not just share the gospel but invite people to respond now.
Jesus didn’t say, ‘Take a week to think it over.’ He said, ‘Follow me.’ Evangelism without an invitation is like serving a meal without cutlery.
A Call to Step Through
This is an extraordinary moment. The door is open but no one knows for how long.
That’s why I’m asking you: will you help us step through it? Will you pray? Will you give, so that together we can reach out and appeal in Jesus’ name? The door is open. The time is now. Let’s not stand outside talking about it but let’s walk through boldly and see what God will do.
With gratitude,
